7 months

OK so I think I say the same thing every month but Noah is 7 months....where did the time go. He is growing so fast. I love to see him discovering the new world around him and how the little things make him so happy. He is such a sweet baby. We have been so blessed to have such a good sleeper and he is pretty much happy all the time. That is unless he is teething. He is getting his 2 top teeth right now and he has had a hard time with them cutting through. He is starting to eat some meat and is able to grab things with his hand and attempt to eat everything. He sits up with out help and we recently had to lower his crib after I found him sitting up by himself in his crib laughing and banging on the mattress. You could tell he was really proud of himself for doing it all alone. Every month he is getting so much more fun and we are noticing his personality more and more. I love him so much and can't wait to see who God has created him to be....

Baby Food

I wanted to write a short blog about baby food. I decided to start making Noah's food after I spent about 150 dollars on organic baby food. I realized that even the organic stuff has preservatives in it and so I began my search to learn how to make it and how to give my child the best. My sister came down to visit a couple of weeks ago and helped me make my first batch and I have loved it ever since. I have found that the organic apple sauce you can get in the regular aisle at the grocery store has no preservatives and no added sugar. The frozen veggies and fruit are an easy way to make good food fast. I have also found that if I set one night aside a week I can make enough food for 2 weeks. If you have any questions on how to make baby food just let me know. I usually use this website to get different recipes but he is still in the stage 1

What's New

6 months old!!

I can't believe that Noah is 6 months old already. Time has gone by so fast and it really seems like only yesterday we were looking at a pregnancy test that said positive and 23 later it was official.

Noah has is such a good baby and for the most part has been easy. He sleeps through the night and wakes up in the morning with a huge smile. It makes 6am a lot brighter seeing his sweet face smiling up at you.

So whats new this month:

He is eating solids 3 times a day, peas, carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes ect....

He is allergic to Avocado - he instantly broke out in a rash on his face with the first bite.

He is sitting up really well by himself but still falls over after a few minutes

He has different smiles for things that make him happy
He is starting to try and crawl but is more interested in just rolling to where he wants to go
He loves time with his dad when he gets home, once he is home he wants nothing to do with me.
Andrew surprised me with an awesome Bob stroller for my birthday. I am so excited to run with Noah. I am up to 4 miles and can't wait until March for the big Half Marathon !!!!!!!

Almost 6 months

I Can't believe my little guy will be 6 months old next week. Time has flown by and I am more in Love with him today than I was the day we brought him home. In the beginning babies don't do much but cry, eat, sleep and poop...and you have a whole new adjustment period where you have to cry, pray and learn to be a mom...It is an amazing and hard time. Now that we are moving past the beginning growing pains we have adjusted and are now Having fun....don't get me wrong, it is still hard at times but this stage makes you realize that those first few months are so worth every second. So what is Noah up to this month...
He is sitting up
He is eating solids 3 times a day
The 2 hr nap has started !! and he is taking 3 naps 8, 10 and 230
He always has his foot in his mouth
When he gets tired he doesn't cry he Laughs a lot
He Loves books
He knows the sign...Eat...he can't sign it back but if he is hungry and crying he instantly stops and looks for a bottle

We have been so busy but hopefully I can get back into blogging...and start talking about more than Noah...recipes and my projects will be up soon

Big Boys have teeth !!!

I can't believe that I am about to have a 5 month old baby.....what. It is going by so fast I want to hit the pause button so I can take in this moment...every week he is getting more aware of everything around him. He has started eating solids and I must say that he loves them.
He has had peas and sweet potatoes so far but loves them. He has 2 teeth now and they are actually really starting to get big. We had to move him to eating in the high chair because he tries to push himself out of his bumbo and if we would just let him he would push it over to get out of it. We took him to the Dr. last week and he is right on target for height and weight.
Wt: 16 lbs
Ht: 29 in.
He has started getting up on his knees when he is on his tummy and pulling himself on the ground so he will be crawling soon. He is still not on a consistent schedule, mostly because he wakes up at a different time every morning which sets the time for the whole day so if anyone has any tips...please let me know.
My Grandmother came to Austin for the first time this week to stay with us for a couple of days and it was so much fun. Having 4 generations together at one time really makes you appreciate family.
In other news our church is doing well. Andrew has started playing in the band on Sundays and I am still working with 12-24 month olds. We are praying that God will continue to allow us to reach our community for him.

Also, I have a job!!! I will be a clinical Liaison 2 weekends out of the month so that means some extra money and Daddy duty. I am excited to have some me time working and for Noah to have time to be with Andrew by himself. I am hoping that this will allow Noah to not become to attached to me since I am with him so much and have a healthy bond with both of his parents.

4 months plus

Sorry it has been a while since our last post, we have been busy. Noah is growing so fast and doing more each week. His 4 month Dr's appt. is Friday so I will have an update on how is is physically growing then but he is ahead of where he needs to be developmentally. He has been working hard on his first tooth for the last month and it finally popped out today. I love staying at home with him and seeing him explore the world around him. In other news his friend Joey was born yesterday and I got to see him last night. He is so cute and looks a little like his mommy. Holding him reminded me of how much Noah has grown in the last 4 months and how blessed we are to have a healthy baby. I can't wait for him to grow up with his friends and even better...us getting to hang out watching our little ones grow.

What can I say about the Hunts....we have been busy. Our church just had our first Sunday last week and it was amazing. Andrew and I are helping out with the Children's Ministry and it was so much fun. We had over 50 kids and 100 adults. I am so excited to see how God is going to use us to reach our community.

We just got back from vacation from California and it was amazing. We were in the Napa Valley for the most of our trip then we went to San Fransisco the last day. We did all the touristy stuff and it was so much fun, although I am done with wine for a while and am pretty sure I created some new dance moves....bread and butter anyone? Andrew and I has some time without our little guy and I must say that is was much needed. He is to young to know that we left him so there was no crying, except for me. When I picked him up from Lufkin he actually just looked at me...no smile, and I admit I was a little sad about that.

We had an awesome experience in a mud bath...

In other News our Little guy is 4 months old...I can't believe that he is getting so big. When we picked him up from Lufkin it was like he grew a ton while we were gone. He is getting a lot more active and starting to voice his opinion more. We started on rice cereal about 1 week ago but it really hurt his tummy so someone suggested that I try oatmeal. We tried it this week and no problems at all....he loves it. He started rolling and that has been his obsession lately. He wakes himself up at night rolling on his tummy....so this fun new milestone is not much fun at night. I was a little worried about him rolling into the bumper pad so they came off and I got these amazing new breathable bumper pads that not only protect him from SIDS but also when he gets older they collapse if he tries to stand on them so we will be able to use them for a long time. I am bonding more and more with him everyday and am blessed to be able to stay at home with him.

Crazy Busy August !!!!

This Month has been super busy for us but one of the best ones in a long time. Most of you know that we are on the core team for a church plant here in Round Rock. We had our charter service on Saturday and it was amazing and emotional. God has prepared the way for us to start Summit Community and I can't wait to see what he has in store for us. First service is Sept. 13th.....so join us.

One of my close friends Hayley had a baby shower on Saturday. It was so much fun showering her with gifts for Gunnar and hanging out with friends. Gunnar will hopefully be making his entrance into the world on or before Oct. 31st and we are so excited for Noah to have another friend.
And I of course can't post anything without a picture of our little Monster. This was on Thursday which was Andrew and I's 4 yr anniversary...see the flowers in the background, those are my favorites. I got him Brian Regan tickets so we will be going in October. Does anyone want to babysit that night?

Noah is 3 1/2 months and doing really well. He is starting to get on a schedule now and his naps are getting longer during the day. He is now sleeping in his room...what a big boy. by the way I love my video monitor....we got it the day we put him in his room and now I can just glance at it to see if he is ok and make sure he is not awake or crying. He is in a weird stage where he wiggles out of his positioner and sleeps on his side, but still has not mastered the roll just yet so the video monitor has helped me feel more comfortable with not having to be with him constantly. He is growing up so much and it seems like every week he does something new. We are going to California next week and leaving him for 4 days in Lufkin. I cry just thinking about it. And it will be the first time we have ever left him for longer than 4 hours with someone. Maybe I should have gradually worked up to the 4 day thing but its to late now. I know I will be sad and worried about him the whole time but I am excited about sleeping.....oh sleep I have missed you old friend.

Noah's Mugs

I wanted to share this with everyone. After high school I was a young life leader witha couple named the Hall's. They were an amazing couple and showed me how to understand Go'd love in a deeper way. Well they now have kids and one of them is named Noah...yes I do love the name. Anyway you can see the story on how it started here:

www.noahsmugs.com

Basically if you buy 1 mug you are able to give someone clean water for the rest of their life. It is totally worth buying at least one and tell your friends to buy one. It is a great way to give 2 people a great gift. 1 a mug and the other clean water for life.

Immunizations and 2 month appt.

So this week I woke up to find Noah sideways in his crib. He started out between the wedge and somehow ended up like this. I think it is time to stop using it. I am actually not a big fan of the wedge. I know it is good to use but he has more than once scooted down so far that his head was stuck between the wedge. I don't know if it would have just been safer to lay him on his back without anything or not.

Well our little guy is getting so big. I was totally not going to be one of those moms that posted the stats on how he is doing but I guess I am.

Weight : 12.10 - 50%

Height : 24.75 90% now I know why he has already outgrown his 3-6 month sleepers

After much prayer and research I have decided to go with the Dr. Sears vaccination schedule that I changed a little to fit what I wanted. He will still get most of his shots but they are all spaced out in such a way that is safer. He did so well with the shots, he just looked at the nurse and fell asleep.

We have a thumb sucker...yes he loves it. He gets so into sucking it that he gags himself. We also have a good sleeper. We put him down at 7 and he wakes up at 9 to eat and right back to bed until 3am..eats again then right back to sleep until 7 or 8. He has been doing this for over a week now and I am actually getting sleep.

.We have been so busy lately and this week has been no different. We have a Summit retreat this weekend then we leave for New Braunfels on Thursday.

9 weeks Old !!

Our attempt to take a picture before HP!!!

So cute in his monkey onsie...Thanks Aunt Alison.
He is starting to get hair and it is really blonde.

Well our little guy is 9 weeks old today. I can't believe that only 9 weeks ago he was still kicking around in my belly. This past Saturday was our first time to leave him with a baby sitter while we went with some friends to go see Harry Potter. I was so excited about this movie, I have been talking about it forever but a little worried he would be fussy. He did great. Thanks Kristen for taking such good care of our little man.

Reality Bites !!!

Today I was faced with a harsh reality of post pregnancy. I went shopping....yes for the first time since I had Noah I decided to take some me time and try and find some clothes that fit me. I am in that weird stage after baby of where I am constantly trying to figure out what this flat tire is around my waist and why are my boobs now looking at the floor. It is a sad and depressing reality to face that having a baby changes your body so much. Is it possible for your bones to shift and your body be a totally different shape....yes, unfortunantly it is. I am trying to say good bye to the body I used to have and embrace the new me, but this is going to come with lots of kicking and screaming. I have talked Andrew into letting me buy the P90x fitness at home and will start a blog about it once it arrives.

Complete this sentence. I will be happy when _________. Well for me this blank can be filled with many things at different times in life but it usually is filled with the word house.
We have decided to not buy a house. This was yet another harsh reality I had to face this past week. I have wanted a new house and more space for a while but having a child really made me realize we need more room. It was a slap in the face to find out that because I am no longer working we would not be able to afford all the expenses and the loan to buy a house, and for some reasonI thought the government was supposed to be helping people buy houses right now. So we had to decide either i go back to work and put Noah in daycare or we stay where we are for another year. After lots of tears and struggling with God about my earthly wants we decided no. It is amazing how God works in your heart and allows you to go through the motions of defeat to then realize that what you thought would make you happy is not what he had in mind. God want to be the blank in my life.

7 Weeks

One of the cute outfits I bought this week at Gymboree...I love this store
Swim suites for next year....I can't even imagine that he will be walking by then

Cousins!

Happy 4th of July!
This past weekend we went to Houston for our annual selling fireworks. We had great expectations for this year because it was on a Saturday, but the economy really put a damper on our sells. Last year we sold about 32,000 dollars and this year we did 16,000. Not as good but still ok. Noah did great this weekend. He is 7 weeks old !!!

6 1/2 weeks and other Big News !!!

Noah sporting his cute new outfit from Nanny. Still don't completely understand why baby clothes says 3 months but that is not really what it means.
He loves his swing. This is where he naps sometimes. He has recently started watching the little birds on the top fly around. Note his cute Polo outfit...yes he is almost to big for it. Yet another 3 mo. outfit that he is outgrowing.

This is our bedtime ritual. He eats, we change him and we read a story from his awesome storytime bible ( Thanks Frenzels) I almost wish it was my bible...I mean it makes more sense and it has cool pictures. We are all learning from it.
Well he is 6 1/2 weeks and doing well. I almost don't want to say this but he is a really good baby. He cries maybe 30 min. a day and that is only when he needs something. He had dropped his midnight feeding so we are getting sleep from 10 - 3. I owe it to a good baby and baby wise. I am quickly learning a couple of things that I wish I had known and wish I had or had not bought for him.
1) Breast feeding is harder than delivery - for some reason I was not prepared for how hard it was and the emotional side of it is a little overwhelming.
2) Baby clothes are all different sizes depending on the brand. 3 months doesn't mean 3 months.
3) Should have bought a camera monitor - I think this would help with the transition to him sleeping in the nursery. Because I could just flip it on and watch him at night and not have to get up every 5 min. to make sure he is ok.
4) A baby swing and gym are Noah's favorite things....so happy we got them.
5) Pampers swaddlers are the best diapers...we have tried many others and these are the ones that worked for us.
6) When you have a baby the most important thing you can do for yourself is to take a shower everyday and take 30 min. for yourself...whatever that looks like. And it is ok to leave dishes in the sink.....
We have just started the process of looking at houses...We are Moving....not sure where or when but we have decided it is a good time to buy a house and we need more room.....

6 weeks and growing

Our 6 weeks picture by our Lab...he is getting so big.

Daddy Time !!!

Night time. I bought this cute sleep sak for him last week and he only got to wear it once. He is now in 3 month clothes. So we gave it to Gunnar to wear.

Bath time !!

Today we celebrated Noah's 6 week birthday. I can't believe he is getting so big. We have had a fun week. Thursday night I got to hang out with the Summit ladies while Andrew watched Noah. Friday Andrew's parents came by to see us on there way home from California. Saturday Tom came to visit us and see Noah. Saturday night was our first hang out at Beth and Joey's. Noah did really well and got to meet Joey for the first time. He even fed Noah as soon as we got there. It was fun knowing that one day when we hang out again we will have 4 kids there. We are looking forward to going to Houston this next week to sell fireworks and hang out with family.
In other non Noah related news we are jumping back into the church plant that we started a few months ago. Summit Community Church will be having our first service in August and we are so excited. It has been amazing to see how God is blessing us and paving the way for his work to be done in this city. Andrew is going to be heading up the Missions ministry so I can see lots of mission trips in our future.
